We Serve Others To Make a Difference
Volunteering is more than just sharing your time and talent, it's about the satisfaction of knowing you are helping people become stronger, giving back to your community and gaining valuable work experience that will enhance your career opportunities.
The role of the volunteer distinguishes the Y as a place where everyone can actively participate in bringing about meaningful, enduring change in our community.
"I was given the opportunity to use my skills as a photographer for some local events. I covered the Senior Day, and Fun Night with Dori Meyer. I was 4 months pregnant and socially active while also enjoying the Yoga classes and the swimming facilities..."
Volunteers fulfill the YMCA mission in a variety of ways, from raising funds for our Annual Campaign to teaching youth sports and leading fitness classes.
The Door County YMCA would not be able to serve the entire community without the help of over 400 volunteers who help us each year. There are many opportunities to help change someone's life by volunteering at the Door County YMCA. Volunteers comprise our board of directors, serve on committees, work special events, coach sports and so much more.
