Volunteer at the Y

Why volunteer at the Door County YMCA?

The role of the volunteer distinguishes the Y as a place where everyone can take an active role in bringing about meaningful, enduring change in the community.

Volunteers fulfill the YMCA mission in a variety of ways, from raising funds for our Annual Campaign to teaching youth sports and leading fitness classes.

The Door County YMCA would not be able to serve the entire community without the help of the over 600 volunteers that help us each year.  While serving your community, you will also gain new skills and abilities and inherit a network of friends through YMCA staff, members and other volunteers - and have fun doing it!

At the Y, we are more than just a gym, we are a community!

Volunteers make up the heart of the Door County YMCA. Each and every volunteer demonstrates the YMCA core values of caring, honesy, respect and responsibility. Volunteer today at the Door County YMCA and feel how good it is to give back.

Read this great article from the Peninsula Pulse by Pam Seiler, Executive Director of the Volunteer Center of Door County about two lives changed from volunteering at the Y.

There are many opportunities to help change someone's life by volunteering at the Door County YMCA.  Founded by volunteers, the Door County YMCA continues to be led by over 600 volunteers each year.  Volunteers comprise our board of directors, serve on committees, work special events, work with children, coach sports and more.
