Red Cross Lifeguard Training

ages 15.5+

This class provides the necessary training to become a certified lifeguard. Participants must be 15.5 years old by the last date of class and must attend all class sessions to be eligible for certification. The course fee includes certification in Lifeguard Training, First Aid, CPR, and AED. It also includes the cost of the Lifeguard Manual, CPR resuscitation mask and certification cards. 

*Course fees are partially reimbursable upon hire and six months of work.

 

Prerequisite Swim: 300 yards of continuous swimming any combination of free style and breast stroke; 2 minutes treading water with legs only; and a timed event of 1:40 to swim 20 yards to retrieve a 10 lb brick from 7-10 feet deep and hold it with two hands, swim back on your back to the side of the pool and climb out.
