Youth T-ball/Baseball

Ages 4 through Grade 5 (boys and girls)

(Sturgeon Bay & Northern Door)

 

Youth Baseball is a values-based developmental program for boys and girls. The programs emphasis is on learning the fundamentals, rules of the game and how to work together as a team. Each session is developmentally appropriate for the age of the players and includes games each week. All players make the team and play in every game.  This program is offered seasonally.

 

T-ball | Younger children will learn the basics of baseball from throwing and catching to running the bases and using a tee to hit the ball. Cleats or tennis shoes required.

Baseball | Older children will practice their baseball skills and play in game situations. Each week will include skills followed by a short game.  Volunteer coaches pitch to the participants (coach-pitch).

 


Youth Flag Football

Ages 4 through Grade 5 (boys and girls)

(Sturgeon Bay & Northern Door)

A semi-competitive program for boys and girls that emphasizes learning the basics of football through a combination of games and skill practice. Kids will have fun while learning how to run, block, pass, receive and play defense. All participants play in every game and each player will have the opportunity to sample various positions. Everyone receives an award and a team t-shirt. 

Sessions meet on the Sturgeon Bay High School Practice Field (middle of the track across from the HS).

Afterschool Sports

Grades 1 through 5 (boys and girls)

(Sturgeon Bay)

Engage in fundamentals and game play each day; flagfootballkickball, dodgeballsoccer and many other fun youth sports are played. All classes will meet in their specified location and may go outside if the weather allows for it. 

(Afterschool sports is offered throught the school year)

 


Afterschool Fun

Ages 5+

(Northern Door)

Students get the opportunity to be a part of the Y from 3:30 pm to 5:15 pm, Monday through Friday. They will get bused from Gibraltar directly to the Y after school. Once here, they will be supervised in a number of activities ranging from Swim Lessons to Karate to the youth sport of the session. Students will also get an opportunity to complete homework and have a healthy after school snack.

 


Volleyball

Grades 3 through 8 (boys and girls)

(Sturgeon Bay)

The program is open to all boys and girls and will be split up by ability. The younger group sessions will focus on fundamentals and skill development, while the older group sessions will be a mixture of skill development and game play. If interested in coaching, please let the front desk know upon registering. Coaches will be contacted at opening day and teams will be formed (for the older group) after the first week.

Soccer

4K through Grade 5 (boys and girls)

(Sturgeon Bay) 

Youth Soccer is a semi-competitve program for boys and girls. Kids will learn the skills of the game while focusing on good sportsmanship, competition and playing with others their age. Skill development and game play is included each week where the emphasis is on having fun in a safe supportive environment. Plenty of exercise too!

Basketball 

4k through Grades 5 (boys and girls)

(Sturgeon Bay)

Let's tip it off and play some hoops! This program places emphasis on skills, and fun, rather than winning. The first two weeks are team practices; the remaining six are games (no scores kept). Please consider volunteering your time to be a coach for your child's team!
