Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

How do I get started with my exercise routine in the Wellness Center?
Scheduling a free wellness coaching appointment with one of our health and wellness experts to help start you off on the right track.  You may also schedule an orientation in the Wellness Center.   We have certified strength and conditioning staff available to teach you how to use the cardiovascular and strengthening machines to achieve the maximum benefit and avoid unnecessary injury. For your safety, if you are new to exercise or not familiar with exercise equipment, we highly recommend that you have an orientation to the machines prior to using them. Please stop by the Welcome Center to sign up for your FREE orientation.

How do I register for classes?
YMCA members have priority in registration for all classes. You can sign-up for classes at any time, but registrations are taken on a first-come, first-serve basis. We recommend you sign up for classes during registration week to obtain your first choice. Register via one of three methods: online, in-person or over-the-phone. The annual session calendar and registration dates are available at here.

Even if there is no fee for a class, you must register to be assured of a spot. Program fees must be paid with registration at the Welcome Center. Payments can be made using cash, check, credit card (all 4 major cards accepted) or bank draft.

What about closing or class cancellations?
Classes may be canceled due to inclement weather. These circumstances are out of the YMCA’s control and will not be rescheduled. Programs held outdoors may be rescheduled if repeatedly canceled. Weather cancellations are announced on all local radio stations and are listed on our website, Facebook page, and through our Mobile App.

What is your cancellation policy?
A YMCA class or activity could be canceled due to storms, “accidents” in the pool, lack of instructor, snow, unsafe conditions, and/or rain.  There are no refunds offered for classes canceled due to these circumstances.  Requests to cancel a class and receive a refund must be made within the first 2 weeks of the session. The YMCA reserves the right to cancel, reschedule, or combine classes. There are no credits given for individual classes missed (unless a written medical excuse is provided). A member must maintain their membership through the end of the session to receive member pricing.
