The Door County YMCA’s Christine Webb-Miller was selected by photographer Dennis Connolly for an exhibit entitled ‘People of Impact in Door County’.  In Dennis’ words, “If the quality of an organization is a reflection of its personnel and staff, the Sturgeon Bay Y certainly falls into that category. While there are many laudable people who convey the spirit of positivity, inclusiveness and welcoming, I have chosen one exceptional person of impact, who conveys these qualities generously and warmly. Christine Webb-Miller seems to somehow be everywhere at the Y, managing to greet everyone and give “heart” to the environment.

Christine has been committed to the Y in different capacities for thirty-six years. Besides being a fitness instructor and motivational coach with passion, she embraces being the Older Active Adult Coordinator, giving support, encouragement and specified instruction to improve balance, to re-hab or prepare for joint replacement, to improve arthritic movement and general enhancement of well-being. Christine has a smile to greet, sensitive ears to listen, and a heart to care.”

This is the 4th exhibit of ‘People of Impact in Door County’, it is the creation of Tom Seagard, a well-respected Door County artist, in collaboration with Tom Groenfeld and Dennis Connolly. The concept of the exhibit involves five Door County photographers who were asked to pick out 4-6 impactful people in our area and produce portraits of them in their own creative style. The photographers could also interpret ‘impactful’ in their own way. The result is an exhibit featuring people who make our county the great and unique place that it is, and those honored people artfully expressed through the lens of these photographers. The exhibit is currently being held in the lobby of the Door County Community Foundation offices, located on 3rd Avenue in Sturgeon Bay.

The Door County Y is thankful to Dennis Connolly for shining a light on the passion and care that Christine brings to the Door County Y, our members and community each and every day.
