Every day, people join the Y, motivated to get healthier. But sometimes, they need a little extra help and support to reach that goal. We won't promise an easy instant transformation but we will make sure you get a start on your path to help you achieve our goals.
Are you ready to take the next step? Schedule an appointment or learn more by contacting the Welcome Center at your specific branch: Northern Door (920.868.3660) or Sturgeon Bay (920.743.4949).
15-minute consultations, by appointment, are available to Y members with questions about sports-related injuries. This is a collaborative effort between Door County Medical Center and the Y.
A good start to any fitness program is a thorough assessment of your current fitness level. By establishing your baseline fitness measurements, you will be able to track your progress and select your exercise accordingly. Your fitness specialist can recommend activities and exercises to improve your fitness level and optimize your workouts. Your personalized evaluation includes:
Resting heart rate
Muscular strength and endurance
Cardiovascular fitness
Body composition
Take charge of your fitness program by completing a body composition test. Determine your current body fat percentage and learn how it relates to your risk level for heart disease, diabetes and other health conditions. Our fitness specialists are available by appointment.
Included FREE with your membership, your Jump Start coach will focus on an approach that is safe, efficient, easy-to-follow and helps you stay motivated. Whatever your goal, our expert health and wellness staff will help you to succeed!
Our fitness staff can show you safe and effective ways of incorporating strength training into your workout routine. We have a variety of resistance and strength training equipment to work out every major muscle group.
