The Door County YMCA, in partnership with the Knights of Columbus, successfully completed this year’s Coats for Kids Drive, collecting and distributing winter coats to ensure local youth stay warm during the colder months.

Through generous community donations of new and lightly used coats, as well as additional coats purchased by the Knights of Columbus, more than 140 free winter coats were distributed to children and teens across Door County. Distribution events were held during the first two weekends of November at the Door County YMCA.

“Our Y is committed to supporting the well-being of every child in our community, and this partnership helps ensure that no young person goes without a warm coat,” said Amy Gamble, Door County YMCA’s Communications & Outreach Executive. “We are grateful to work alongside the Knights of Columbus to meet this important need.”
The Coats for Kids Drive reflects the YMCA’s ongoing mission to strengthen the foundations of community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.

Families who were unable to attend the two distribution events and are still in need of a youth winter coat are encouraged to contact the Knights of Columbus for assistance. You can contact Gary Drexler at gary.drexler@EQMC2.com to arrange for a fitting and jacket. Coats are available in all sizes from youth up through and including young adult - large sizes. Both boys' and girls' jackets are available for all shapes and sizes.
