Door County, WI – Door County YMCA host site for a successful Door County Humane Society Pet Walk
Door County, WI – The Door County YMCA was proud to serve as the host site for the Door County Humane Society Pet Walk on Sunday, September 8th, at Peterson Park. The event welcomed community members and their pets, providing a perfect opportunity for animal lovers and families to come together in support of a great cause.
The Pet Walk helped to raise awareness about pet adoption, animal welfare, and the importance of responsible pet ownership, with all proceeds benefiting the Door County Humane Society. Attendees enjoyed a relaxed walk around the scenic Peterson Park, with their pets on leashes, and contributed to the friendly and respectful environment by cleaning up after their furry friends.
" We were thrilled to host the Pet Walk and support the Door County Humane Society in their mission," said Tonya Felhofer, CEO at Door County YMCA. "Peterson Park is an excellent location for community events, and it was wonderful to see so many people and pets enjoying the day together. We hope events like this give our community an opportunity to visit Peterson Park and see what we have to offer. We also want the entire community to understand that Peterson Park is for everyone, you do not need to be a member of the Y to enjoy this beautiful park. We hope this is just the first of many events like this, as we continue to foster a sense of community and promote the well-being of both people and pets."
The event successfully showcased Peterson Park as a welcoming venue for family-friendly gatherings, reinforcing the YMCA's commitment to bringing the community together for fun and meaningful activities. Thanks to the enthusiastic participation of attendees, the event raised valuable funds for the Door County Humane Society, directly supporting their efforts to care for and find homes for animals in need.
