Door County YMCA Swim Team Finishes 3rd Overall at Competitive 15-Team Invitational

DOOR COUNTY, WI – The Door County YMCA (DCY) Swim Team delivered another exceptional performance at a highly competitive invitational meet this past weekend, featuring 15 teams from across Wisconsin and Illinois. Despite bringing just 38 swimmers, DCY earned an impressive 3rd place overall, showcasing the team’s depth, talent, and dedication.

The men’s team secured a strong 2nd-place overall finish, while the women’s team placed 6th, contributing to the program’s standout combined performance.

Relay teams were a major highlight for DCY. Of the 12 relays entered across all age groups, 10 relays placed in the top three, including five relay victories:

·       15–Open Men’s 200 Medley Relay – 1st place

·       13–14 Men’s 200 Medley Relay – 1st place

·       13–14 Men’s 200 Free Relay – 1st place

·       9–10 Girls’ 200 Free Relay – 1st place

·       9–10 Boys’ 200 Medley Relay – 1st place

Additional top relay finishes included the 9–10 Girls’ 200 Medley Relay – 2nd place, along with four relays earning 3rd place.

DCY swimmers posted outstanding individual results as well, with 67 lifetime best times53 new State qualifying times, and another National cut earned by Daylia Sund in the 200 Breaststroke.

Individual event champions included:

·       Daylia Sund, W15–Open 100 Breaststroke

·       Landon Reinhardt, M11–12 200 IM and 100 Free

·       Reese Sund, M13–14 200 IM

·       Nadia Kurek, W11–12 50 Free and 100 Free

DCY athletes also added depth to the scoreboard with 2nd-place finishes in 12 events3rd-place finishes in 7 events, and 4th-place finishes in 11 events, demonstrating competitive strength across all strokes and age groups.

·       Nadia Kurek – Women’s Side
