Pat Hellen Memorial Golf Outing Raises $14,194 to Benefit Door County YMCA Youth Programs

Sturgeon Bay, WI –  The annual Pat Hellen Memorial Golf Outing was a tremendous success, raising an impressive $14,194 to support the Door County YMCA’s youth programs. Held on Tuesday, September 10 at Maxwelton Braes the event gathered community members, sponsors, and golf enthusiasts for a memorable day of fun and philanthropy, all in honor of the late Pat Hellen and his commitment to fostering opportunities for local youth.

This year’s outing featured silent auctions,  hole contests, and a small reception, all aimed at generating support for the YMCA's youth programs. These programs play a critical role in nurturing the physical, mental, and social well-being of young people in Door County, providing essential resources such as summer camps,  after-school activities, and leadership development initiatives.

"The generosity displayed at this event is a testament to our community’s dedication to youth development," said Holly Butenhoff, Door County YMCA Jackie & Steve Kane Center Executive Director. "We are deeply grateful to everyone who contributed to this year’s success, from our volunteers and sponsors to each golfer who participated. Together, we’re empowering the next generation and strengthening our community."

The Door County YMCA extends its gratitude to the sponsors, volunteers, and participants who made the Pat Hellen Memorial Golf Outing possible. Their contributions not only honor Pat Hellen’s legacy but also ensure the continued growth and impact of youth programming that reaches hundreds of local children and teens each year.
