Door County YMCA Striver Gymnasts Shine at Pink Invitational
The Door County YMCA Striver Gymnastics Team delivered a standout performance at the Pink Invitational, hosted by the Marinette–Menominee YMCA, earning two Gold Team Championships. The meet featured 425 gymnasts representing eight YMCA programs from across Wisconsin.
The Striver Excel Silver Team captured first place in the team competition with a score of 147.30. In the nine-and-under division, Maya Rank impressed with a gold medal on beam, silver on vault, a 35.35 all-around score, and a fourth-place finish on floor. Maddox Cleveland earned gold on floor, bronze on beam, placed fourth in the all-around with a score of 35.10, and finished fifth on bars.
In the 10–11 age group, Charlotte Hubbing delivered a dominant performance, winning gold in the all-around with a score of 36.85, along with gold on floor and vault. She also earned silver on beam and placed fourth on bars. Piper Delarwelle followed closely, capturing silver in the all-around with a score of 36.75, silver on vault, gold on beam, and bronze on bars.
The Excel Gold Team also secured a Gold Team Championship with a score of 143.80. Jessa Varney led the team in the 12-and-under division, earning gold on vault, beam, and in the all-around with a score of 36.65, silver on floor, and fourth on bars. Jackson Varney contributed with silver medals on bars and in the all-around, scoring 36.00.
In the 13-and-older division, Evelynn Kelsey claimed gold in the all-around with a score of 35.35, silver on floor, bronze on beam, fourth on vault, and seventh overall. Keira Clark added to the medal count with gold on bars, bronze in the all-around with a score of 35.20, fourth-place finishes on beam and floor, and fifth on vault.
In Level 8 competition, Amira Anschutz earned gold on floor and bronze on vault, beam, and in the all-around with a score of 34.35, while Estelle Duerst captured bronze on bars.
The Striver Gymnastics Team will next compete at the Kettle Moraine Fire and Ice Invitational in West Bend, Wisconsin, from March 6–8, as gymnasts across the state prepare for the State Tournament, scheduled for March 28–29 in Green Bay.
