Door County YMCA Joins YMCAs Across the Country for Campfire Across America, Celebrating Community and Connection

On Wednesday, July 22, 2026, the Door County YMCA will join YMCAs across the country in hosting Campfire Across America, a one-day, nationwide celebration of connection, community, and belonging.

The Door County YMCA will host its Campfire Across America celebration at the Jackie & Steve Kane Program Center in Fish Creek, bringing together families, friends, and neighbors for a day filled with fun, laughter, and opportunities to connect. The event will feature activities for all ages, including visits from Smokey Bear (3:30pm-5:00pm) and the Open Door Bird Sanctuary (3:30pm - 4:00pm), a Spin-to-Win Prize Wheel with chances to win exciting prizes, a camper-run lemonade stand, and delicious s'mores around the campfire. Guests are also invited to enjoy a Lunch Meal Deal from 11:00am to 2:00pm featuring a hot dog, chips, and a bottled water while gathering with family, friends, and neighbors in celebration of community and connection.

For generations, campfires have served as places where differences fade, stories are shared, and community is built. Campfire Across America shines a spotlight on this timeless tradition, creating a shared experience that brings people together not only locally but nationwide.

Campfire Across America is taking place at YMCAs in all 50 states, creating a unified national story of belonging and connection. The initiative highlights the YMCA's long-standing role as a place where everyone is welcome and where communities thrive.

In addition to celebrating community, proceeds from activities during the event will benefit the Door County YMCA Annual Campaign, helping ensure that everyone in our community has access to YMCA programs and services regardless of their ability to pay.
